土耳其

四月十八日至少有三名在土耳其東南方馬拉蒂亞市（Malatya）土拉斯教會的會友，被伊斯蘭教右翼極端分子以割喉方式謀殺身亡，當時他們正在一間由教會經營的基督教書店工作。

罹難的是阿伊丁（Necati Aydin）和烏克撒爾(Ugur Yuksel)，阿伊丁有兩個孩子；第三名被害身亡的是哥斯克(Tilman Geske)，德國人，有四個孩子。這三人都已婚，第四名被害者已知受傷，仍在醫院接受治療。

整個土耳其都與我們一起哀悼在這個國家最紛亂的區域所發生的悲劇。請守望代禱：

 

1.為罹難家屬禱告：有些人尚未信主，不明白他們的家人為何被殺。

2.為土耳其教會禱告：一方面失去了這些寶貴的弟兄與領袖，還要繼續忍受迫害。

3.祈求主讓所有在土耳其服事主的工人都受到保護，並在這些殘暴事件後，福音之門能開啟，得以分享神的愛與福音。

4.藉著我們弟兄的殉道，求神開啟土耳其百姓的眼睛明白真理，真理必叫他們得自由。

吉爾吉斯

為國家的和平與穩定禱告，目前有民眾示威遊行要現任總統辭職下台。反基督徒的暴力行為也愈來愈多，特別是在南方的鄉鎮。下面是吉國朋友寄來的電子郵件摘要：

 

四月十一日在(首都比什凱克市中心)大廣場約有一萬五千到三萬民眾示威遊行，要求總統辭職下台，示威遊行已進行了六日，大多數是來自北方的民眾。十九日將有十萬人示威希望總統能和平轉移政權辭職下台。

 

請在這時候以提摩太前書二1-2為吉爾吉斯禱告！

 

烏茲別克

請繼續為大衛牧師(Dimitry Sheshtakov )禱告，他被判四年勞工營牢刑正在上訴，他的家人已獲准與他同去烏茲別克的開放性勞工營。法庭在判刑時說，若不將他與社會隔離，就無法對他施行思想再教育。典獄官不准他跪下禱告，沒收他的新約聖經，要他讀可蘭經。目前他仍在安地貞等候上訴聽審。也請為(烏茲別克西部)卡拉卡爾帕克斯坦地區同樣面臨牢獄之災的兩位牧者禱告。

今天收到當地肢體更多有關吉爾吉斯目前的情況，請繼續為吉國禱告：十九日在首都比什凱克市中心廣場有史以來最大的群眾示威，數百名警察也在場，從新聞中知道警力大多來自南方。

 

最後警方是以催淚瓦斯、煙霧彈和塑膠子彈驅散示威群眾收場 ，皆因一群煽動者吸引一些激進的民眾企圖攻下比什凱克的總統府。這是政府單位出手驅散群眾的主要藉口。

 

數百位民眾被警方逮捕，毆打甚重，在市中心的帳棚也被拆掉，所有(實際上有三家)支持反對黨的報社也被捕，成千上萬要發送的報紙也被毀。

 

檢察官辦公室開始起訴兩件組織暴動群眾的刑案，指控他們破壞社會秩序等等。但是大家都知道這些煽動者並非鄉下來的人，而是ㄧ群訓練有素的運動員，故意雜在人群當中製造混亂。

 

現在他們試著要「找到」反對運動的領袖庫洛夫(Felix Kulov)企圖以武力奪下總統府的見證，他和好幾位反對執政者的領袖都已被審問了兩次。

 

當然現在廣場上已經沒有示威群眾，因為許多從各地來的民眾被警察毆打搶奪，大多已回到自己家中，可想而知大多數的民眾這時候是又挫敗又生氣。

 

可預期的將會有一波實際的迫害會臨到這些支持反對執政者的群眾。許多人都因此情況受到震動，至少有兩對夫婦，都是我們的好朋友，問我們要移民到哪個國家，因為他們想跟我們一起。我也聽到很多人說，若情況未改善，他們就要很快地離開這個國家。可是我們不計畫去任何地方，雖然眼前的情況不太好，但真理的聲音告訴我們仍有盼望。

 

 

 

Dear Friend,

 

Please pray for the following urgent situations:

 

Turkey

April 18th at least three members of Malatya Kurtulus Church were murdered by the cutting of their throats by right-wing extremists in a Christian bookstore run by the church in that city of southeastern Turkey.

The deceased men are Necati Aydin, father of two, and Ugur Yuksel. The identity of the third victim is Tilman Geske, a German citizen, father of four. All three were married. A fourth victim is known to be injured and in hospital.

 

All of Turkey mourns with us over this tragic and isolated incident in a particularly troubled part of the country. At this point, no further incidents are expected. We are deeply grieved at the loss of these dear friends, and request your vigilant intercession for:

 

1). The families of those who lost loved ones: some of whom are not believers and do not understand why their family member has been killed.

 

2). The Turkish church: as it bears the loss of these dear brothers and key leaders, and continues to bear persecution.

 

3). For all who labor in Turkey for the Lord: for our protection, and for open doors to share God's love and Gospel in the aftermath of these atrocities.

 

4) Pray for God to open Turkish people's eyes with the martyrdom of our brothers so they can see the truth, the truth which can make them free.

 

And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. (Jn. 8:32)

 

Kyrgyzstan

 

Pray for peace and stability in the country. Presently there are demonstrations going on, calling for the resignation of the president. Also, anti-Christian violence is on the rise, especially in villages in the south. Here is an excerpt from an email I received from someone within the country:

 

On April 11th there was a rally down on the main square with about 15 to 30 thousand people there claiming on resignation of the president. They continue in the same manner for the last 6 days, attracting bigger crowds mainly from the North. On the 19th it is planned to have rally with about 100 thousand people and as it was announced a “peaceful resignation of the president” that the opposition is going to create.

 

Pray 1 Tim. 2:1-2 for the country of Kyrgyzstan at this time!

 

Uzbekistan

 

Continue to pray for Dimitry Sheshtakov who has appealed his four-year work-camp sentence. His family will be permitted to go with him to an Uzbek open work-camp. In imposing the verdict, the court said it would be impossible to “re-educate” Shestakov without isolating him from society. The prison administration has banned him from kneeling to pray and his New Testament has been confiscated. In exchange, he has been offered the Koran to read. He remains imprisoned in Andijan until his appeal is heard. Also pray for two other pastors in Karakalpakstan who are facing imprisonment as well.

 

Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners. (Heb. 13:3)

More information the situation in Kyrgyzstan:

 

Please continue to pray for the situation in Kyrgyzstan. I received more information today from someone living in the country:

 

On April 19th the opposition in our country held the biggest meeting numbers wise and brought thousands of people to the main square of Bishkek. Hundreds of policemen were there as well, and as we know from interviews, mainly from the south.

 

Everything ended up with dispersal of the crowd with tear-gas, smoke-shells and rubber bullets. It all happened because of a bunch of instigators who managed to attract some radical people from the crowd and tried to take over the White House in Bishkek. It was the main excuse that authority used to take an action.

 

Hundreds of people were taken to the police departments and severely beaten up, their yurt (tent) camp downtown was taken apart and all the (actually 3) newspapers that support opposition were arrested and thousands of copies ready to be distributed were destroyed.

 

The Prosecutors office started two criminal cases on organizing a rioting mob, breaking social order and coup d'etat. Though everybody knows that those instigators were not village people but specially trained sportsmen sent there to create confusion among people.

 

Now they try to “find” testimonies that would prove that the head of opposition movement in the country Felix Kulov wanted to take over the White House by force. He and several more opposition leaders were taken twice to be interrogated. Sick…

 

Of course there’s no more rally at the main square. Many people from the regions suffered beating and robbing by the police and now most of them are gone to their places. You can imagine that most of these people are frustrated and very mad at the same time.

 

We can now expect a wave of political and physical persecution against everybody who supported and is still supporting opposition which might involve some people you know.

 

This whole situation hit many people hard. At least two couples, our good friends asked us which country we are planning to move out to, since they wanted to join us. I heard people saying that if nothing changes they will leave the country very quickly. And I can understand them. But we are not planning to go anywhere. Yes, our eyes can’t see anything very good at the moment but the voice of truth tells a different story.
